Franz Freudenthal: healing hearts without surgery

Franz Freudenthal, an innovative Bolivian physician, believes that he has found a new way to repair the human heart without the need of drastic and invasive surgery.

His remarkable invention is a device which is said to ‘cure heart ailments in children’, and in a recent TED Talk, he opened up about his methods and visions for the future.

During the talk, Freudenthal speaks of a poem by Rudyard Kipling, which his grandmother used to recite, and which served as a huge motivation and philosophy for his work.

“Something hidden. Go and find it. Go and look behind the Mountains. Something lost behind the mountains. Lost and waiting for you. Go!”
