Harry Styles has just finished his world tour and, in the process, raised a massive amount of money and awareness for a number of charities.
As part of the Treat People With Kindness campaign, Harry Styles managed to raise over $1.2m in funding for over 60 chosen charities and programmes.
In one of his generous donations, Styles gave a reported $42k to the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund, administered by the US National Women’s Law Centre.
The aim of the NWLC is to represent people who have become embroiled in sexual harassment lawsuits in the wake of the #MeToo movement.
According to Pedestrian magazine, that’s not the only great thing which Styles did while he was on tour (which ran from September 2017 to July 2018).
“He invited HeadCount along to help register more young people to vote in the US elections. He also advocated against the use of single-use plastics, environmental group Reverb writing that custom reusable bottles and refilling stations at his gigs led to more than 13,000 “saved” single-use plastic water bottles, even as he recycled more than 6,500 gallons of water from buses, offices, dressing rooms and other backstage areas.” – Hannah Story, Pedestrian Mag

The story, which broke on The Daily Mail, was unveiled after the discovery of legal records which showed that Styles made the donation of $42,631 last month. Apparently, ‘Other groups which Styles donated to included the Gay Lesbian & Straight Education Network, March for Our Lives and The Hunger Project‘.
