Jimmy Fallon may have been visited by three ghosts, or else he’s simply feeling the Christmas spirit in a big way.
Whatever the case may be, he made a mammoth gesture on his Friday night Tonight show (December 22nd).
After distributing some gifts to the audience, Jimmy Fallon focused upon one lady in particular. Giselle Burgess from Queens, NY, is the founder of Girl Scout Troop 6000, who assist homeless kids in New York City.
Burgess, a single mother of five, has personally experienced homeless as recently as this year. It was as a result of this experience that she started the Girl Scout Troop 6000, which is the first of its kind in the city.
Jimmy Fallon paid tribute to Burgess’ work with a personal cheque for $6,000. In association with retailer JC Penny, the Girl Scout Troop received a donation of $50,000.
Two giant cheques were presented, causing Burgess to burst into tears of joy. Two of her daughters came out to hand over the larger of the two donations.
It was a wonderful display of seasonal goodwill, and a reminder of the many volunteer organisations that work tirelessly to make our world a better place.
