Popstar, campaigner and mom, Pink, has been working up a sweat raising awareness for an awesome cause.
America has a huge social crisis with childhood Hunger. As the poverty gap grows, many children are skipping meals, or simply not eating the right thing. None of which should be happening in a developed country.
For the past 3 years Chef Cycle have been raising awareness in support of the #nokidhungry campaign. Pink has been an outspoken advocate of the cause, having taken part in the race. This year, however, will be the first time that the singer has taken on the full challenge.
Chef Cycle is an 3 day, 300 mile endurance cycling event featuring award winning chefs fighting hunger outside of the kitchen from May 16-18th.
The group welcomed singed Pink as one of it’s No Kid Hungry heroes.
The Badass Mom has already raised almost $66k and rising, to add to the overall goal of $2m. This could mean approx 20 million meals for Americas 1 in 6 kids facing hunger on a daily basis.
On the fundraising site, Pink stated;”No child in America should grow up hungry. But too many kids in our country don’t have the food they need to thrive.
I’m helping end childhood hunger in America by riding 300 miles in three days with Chefs Cycle for No Kid Hungry. For the past three years, Chefs Cycle has engaged culinary talents who want to push their physical limits while raising funds and awareness in support of No Kid Hungry. The Spring 2017 ride will take place May 16-18 in Santa Rosa, CA with a goal of 250+ chefs riding to raise $2M.
