Apple know that April is Autism Awareness Month, in which organisations such as around the world hold events and activities to educate people about the complexities and challenges which come with the condition.
To get involved this year, in a pair of two minute films Apple tell the story of Dillan, a teenager with autism, and how his life has been improved with the support of his family, therapist and technology.
It is only in recent years that he has managed to communicate, via technological means, with those around him and, in doing so, has given a very beautiful and unique insight into a world which many of us still do not understand.
The Apple films have been praised for their insightful and powerful message, and go beyond the standard PSA by giving a glimpse into the effects of autism in a manner of which have rarely been showcased before in such a concise and enlightening manner.
You can watch the two films, Dillan’s Voice and Dillan’s Path below.
“All my life, I wanted so badly to connect with people but they couldn’t understand because I had no way to communicate.” – Dillan.
