Paper Guardian is the latest environmentally aware invention from Piorama, a company which specializes in ethical and waste-reducing products.
Following a successful range of travel gear, to highlight the Paper Guardian, Piorama have launched a Kickstarter page to get their latest zero waste project off the ground. At the time of writing, they were well on the way to meeting their goal.
As travelers and people who enjoy the outdoors, sustainability has always been an important topic for us. How we live will impact those that follow us. There’s a great Native American proverb that goes “We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.” This project is about sustainability and making a positive change. – Piorama
The Paper Guardian is a device which is intended to make the most of scrap, or waste paper from around the home or office.
The paper industry is something which may need to be re-examined as our culture enters a new stage of essential sustainability. The statistics regarding the sheer amount of new paper which is produced every year are somewhat mind-boggling.
The global production of paper and cardboard stood at approximately 411 million metric tons in 2016. More than half of that production was attributable to packaging paper, while almost one third was attributable to graphic paper. The world’s three largest paper producing countries are China, the United States, and Japan. – Statista
Both the Paper Guardian and its accompanying accessories will all be made in the United States from 100% recycled materials. The intent is that the user can utilize waste paper, meaning that it should never need to be replaced.
The conveniently sized, sleek black holder comes with a specially-crafted edge which allows paper to be cleanly sliced into uniform size. An internal separator keeps used and spare sheets in their relative sections.
Further helping the environment, we are partnering up with onetreeplanted.org so that for every Paper Guardian sold, one tree will be planted. Help us spread the word so that we can plant as many trees as possible! – Piorama
