eCoffee Cup

We are in the midst of a refuse crisis. Every year, more than 100 billion single-use cups end up in landfill. That’s the result of every quick latte at lunchtime, every rushed americano on the way to work; each one accompanied by a non-biodegradable plastic lid.

ecoffee cup are on a mission to change that, by offering a stylish and durable solution. Made with natural, sustainable bamboo fibre (cited as ‘the world’s fastest growing, most sustainable crop‘), ecoffee cups are lightweight, BPA and phthalate free, making them not only environmentally sound, but safe for use as well (unlike throwaway one-use coffee cups).

My Good Planet, like many online entities, is fuelled by coffee and herbal teas in abundance. We’ve definitely been as guilty as anyone else when it comes to grabbing the occasional take out coffee, but have recently made the switch in the office to ecoffee cups and it’s been an amazing change.

We’re never going back now.

The first two which we tried out (as seen above), were fantastic. They have great storage capacity which is applicable to most coffee machines and cafe servings, making these cups usable at the majority of your favourite coffee outlets. They fit perfectly into car holsters and they look amazing, making sure that aesthetic is just as important as functionality. The best thing, in addition to all of this, is the sheer economic factor; these cups were priced between €10-13, which is not a lot in the grand scale of things. They’re easier to manage than the ceramic alternatives, and hold the heat of a hot drink exceptionally well. There is absolutely no plastic taste from the lid either, making them an all-round winner.

It’s difficult to get the balance right when it comes to eco-friendly goods, but ecoffee cups have nailed it. The new range of William Morris designs (above) are gorgeous and we will certainly be acquiring those very soon.

According to ecoffee, this year is a very significant one with regard to drink related waste:

Who would have thought?

Very few people know it, but 2017 marks a somewhat dubious 30th anniversary: that of the modern single-use “paper” cup. In three short decades, we estimate over 2 trillion of them have ended up in landfill – oh, in case you’re wondering, that’s 2,000,000,000,000.

The average lifespan of a single-use cup is 13 minutes – and due to their plastic content less than 1% get recycled.

So, in what could only be described as the understatement of the century, we felt there was an appetite for change! We passionately maintain that recycling is not the answer; instead, we can only institute real change with your help. In this enlightened era, there really is no excuse for single-use. That’s why we created Ecoffee Cup.

The Cup Stops Here.

Ecoffee Cup is a new generation of reusable takeaway cup. Created with the world’s fastest growing, most sustainable crop – bamboo fibre, Ecoffee Cup is BPA and phthalate free. If you haven’t experienced Ecoffee Cup, it feels a bit like thick, yet super-light cardboard; hard to believe it can hold hot liquids.

And because bamboo fibre is naturally sterile, Ecoffee Cup is lovely to drink from and won’t flavour-taint your drinks. The lid and sleeve are made with matte food-grade silicone which is designed especially for hot liquids.

It has a re-sealable no-drip lid, making it perfect to take with you everywhere you go. The whole product (cup, lid and sleeve) is dishwasher safe and should last for years if you treat it nicely; of course it can break if you treat it roughly and it is not suitable for microwave use.

Available in a wide range of fun, contemporary patterns; bright, vibrant colours or classic prints – there’s one to suit your style, wardrobe or mood. That’s why we think Ecoffee Cup packs just a little bit more style than its plastic, ceramic or stainless steel cousins.
